Tokyo Skytree

Tokyo Skytree image

Tokyo Skytree is Japan’s tallest structure and one of the world’s tallest towers, rising 634 meters (2,080 feet). Opened in 2012, it’s both a broadcasting tower and a top observation landmark.

Located in Sumida City near Asakusa, Skytree showcases modern Japanese engineering. Its height—634—was chosen because “6-3-4” can be read as “Musashi,” the region’s historical name.

From the observation decks, you’ll get 360° views over Tokyo, with Mount Fuji visible on clear days. At the base is Tokyo Solamachi, a shopping-and-dining complex with an aquarium and planetarium—easy to turn into a multi-hour stop.

  • Tembo Deck (350m): Main deck with large windows and panoramic skyline views—great for photos.
  • Tembo Galleria (450m): Premium level above the Tembo Deck, featuring a sloped glass walkway to the highest accessible point.
