How do I check my device’s EID and SIM restriction status on iOS?

To use Genki Mobile’s Japan Travel eSIM, your iPhone must support eSIM and have an EID (Embedded Identity Document). Most newer iPhone models support eSIM and include an EID.

Follow the steps below to check your EID and SIM lock status on iOS:

  1. Open Settings and tap General
  2. Tap About inside General
iPhone settings, About field circled in red inside Settings -> General
  3. Scroll down until you see EID, which is a 32-digit number.
The EID shown in the image is only an example — each device has a unique EID.

Below the EID, check Carrier Lock:

  • If it says No SIM restrictions, your device is compatible with Genki Mobile’s Japan Travel eSIM.
  • If a carrier name is shown, your phone is locked and must be unlocked by your carrier before using an eSIM.
