Genki Mobile Portable Wi-Fi Rental Plan Details

  • Rental fee is ¥300/day. A flat activation fee of ¥3,000 applies separately to each rental unit.
  • 1GB/day on NTT Docomo’s 4G/LTE network with 100% population area coverage (see NTT Docomo for details).
    Use is limited to 1GB and no data transfer will be available for the rest of the day (refreshes at 00:00 AM).
    Please refer to the following link to see the substantial amount of data usage allowed with 1GB!
  • High-spec LTE Mobile Router “NEC Aterm MR04LN” is configured upon shipping. Active straight out of the box!
    Share among your group by connecting up to 10 devices at once!
  • Carrying pouch and AC charger included with all rental packages. Mobile battery charger is available separately (¥100/day).
  • Japanese sales tax (8%) applies to any and all sales.
  • Only credit card payments accepted.

When should I order?
Please place your order by 3 pm, at least 3 days prior to your desired rental period. For urgent same-day orders, please place your order by 2 pm for same-day delivery. Urgent orders placed after 2 pm must be picked-up at our office. Next-day delivery is also available to certain areas of Japan. Delivery times cannot be specified. See here for details.
Can I cancel my reservation?
Yes, to cancel, please contact us by email. Please note that cancellations made four or more days prior to your requested rental period will be free of charge. However, for cancellations made three days or less before your requested rental period will incur a 3,000 JPY cancellation fee. (Credit card transaction fees will not be refunded and any difference in exchange rates will not be considered.)
Why is there no optional add-on insurance policy?
As traveller's insurance generally covers compensation fees, we believe an add-on insurance policy is not very beneficial to our customers. Please let us know if you would need to file a report to your insurance provider (e.g. credit card company) as we would be happy to provide any necessary documents to do so.

Pickup / Delivery

For urgent orders and expedited same-day or next-day delivery, please be sure to make the appropriate booking.
Same-day delivery is available only within selected areas in the 23 wards of Tokyo. Same-day pickup is available upon request.

Devices delivered to Narita Airport will be available for pickup until the last flight arrival.

The portable Wi-Fi device will be delivered to your designated location (e.g. hotel, residence, office) for your collection.
In order to ensure a smooth rental period, we do our best to make sure that the device arrives one day prior to the starting date.
To maintain this level of service, we require order placement 2 days prior to the rental period.
Expedited shipping is also available for an extra fee. Please check our shipping map for more details.

You can pickup your rental unit at our office in Minato-ku, Tokyo. (1F of our building is Domino's Pizza).
We are located within 1 min from Exit 6 of Azabu-Juban Station (Subway Namboku/Oedo Line) making it easy access from Shinjuku, Shibuya, and Ginza.
We are also a walking distance from Roppongi.

Can I receive the device on the same day as order placement?
Yes, same-day pickup as well as same-day delivery to shipping addresses within the 23 wards of Tokyo is available. However, same-day delivery is only available for orders placed before 2PM (JST). Please also expect delivery to take up to 3-4 hours. Any orders placed after the 2PM deadline will need to be picked up if the device is desired on the same day.
Can I receive the device the day after order placement?
Yes, next-day pickup as well as next-day delivery to select areas is available. However, next-day delivery is only available for orders placed before 2PM the day prior and time of delivery cannot be selected.
Can the device be delivered to an airport for our collection?
Yes, we provide airport delivery. For deliveries to Narita Airport, your device can be picked up at QL Liner counters. For deliveries to other airports, your device will be available for pick up at the airport post office. Please see here for more details.
Where can I have my device delivered for pickup?
Devices can be delivered to most hotels, offices, and residences. If the address provided is undeliverable, we will notify you by email. Devices can also be delivered to certain airports. For more details on airport pick-up, please see here.
When will the device be delivered to my pick-up location?
We do our best to have your pocket WiFi delivered one day prior to your desired pick-up date. Same-day deliveries will be delivered within 3-4 hours from order placement. Next-day delivery times cannot be guaranteed.

Is there a fair usage policy?
Yes, there is a fair usage policy of 1GB/day. Use is limited to 1GB and no data transfer will be available for the rest of the day (refreshes at 00:00 AM). No pay-per-use additional fees will apply.
How much usage can I get out of 1 GB?

How many devices can connect simultaneously?
Up to 10 devices can be supported.
How long does the battery last?
This depends heavily on usage but according to our NEC manufacturer, the battery should survive up to 14 hours of internet use.
How do I check my data usage?
You can download the free smartphone app Aterm Mobile Tool to check your data usage. A quick instruction manual for using the app can be found with your order upon pickup.
Can I top-up my data usage?
Unfortunately, we do not provide top-up options with this plan.

Return Shipping Service

A return package (Letter Pack Plus) will be enclosed in the box. You can return your items using this return package via any post box or post office anywhere in Japan.
The Letter Pack Plus comes with a tracking number for your reference.

Lawson convenience stores also accept post mail.

*Note: There are post boxes available on the departure lobby of most airports. However, please note that there are no post boxes or post offices after the airport security checkpoint.

Where can I return my rental device?
Please send us back your rental device with the included return package by taking it to the post office or dropping it into a post box. Returns can also be dropped off at Lawson convenience stores.
When should I return my device?
Please post the return package for delivery by 10AM the morning after the end of your rental period.
Is there a post office or post box at the airport?
Usually yes, but please note that there will be no post offices or post boxes after the security checkpoint.
