Japanese Convenience Store Guide

Japanese convenience stores are probably some of the most of convenient and efficient convenience stores in the world. You can pretty much get all the basic things that you need in case of an emergency in the middle of the night. Whether it is basic cooking ingredients, laundry detergent, body soap, face soap, shampoo, makeup, clothing, sanitary goods, and more there is just nothing that is more convenient. Not only that it also has amazing food, snacks, drinks etc that you need. Some convenience stores in other countries I would not dare to buy food at but convenience stores in Japan actually have some pretty delicious food and also very healthy options as well.

Most people think that convenience stores in Japan are just for the basic needs, food and drinks but there are actually a bunch more things that the convenience stores have that are actually very useful. Most convenience stores in Japan have a multi copy machine where you can print, scan, and fax things. And all of these convenient store copy machines have an app that you can download on your phone so that you can easily print things right when you get there. Within minutes you can get whatever it is you need printed, scanned or faxed. As most people do not have a printer, scanner and fax machine at home it is great for people like this.

There is also another ticket machine where you can easily order tickets for concerts, sports, movies and various types of events. Depending on the convenience store that you go to the machine used to buy and print the ticket will differ but most convenience stores will have this ticket machine. You can even buy tickets for theme parks, highway buses and more. Once you have printed the tickets you can pay for them right there and then buy bringing the printed slip to the cash register. If you are not sure how to work the machines you can always ask the store staff for help.

If you live in Japan, you can actually get around with not having a credit card. If you do online shopping at sites like rakuten or amazon you can opt for convenience store payment if you do not have a credit card. And for those who need to pay gas, electricity and water bills who do not have a credit card can easily do so by going to a convenience store and paying their bills. Convenience stores often also sell prepaid credit cards that you can purchase and use for online shopping.

Convenience stores in Japan also always have an ATM machine so many people will often go to the convenience store instead of going to the bank. Depending on what time you use the atm there will either be a fee or it will be free of charge. And if you go to the seven eleven atm it will let you withdraw money even if you have an international cash card. This is most convenient for tourist to use if the post office atm is closed. If you are a tourist traveling in Japan the best places to withdraw money would be from an atm machine at seven eleven, the post office or a citibank rather than any of the other regular ATMs that you see around.

If you are wondering if credit cards can be used in convenience stores in Japan then the answer is yes. But if you are using an IC train card then you can charge the train card with a certain amount of money and you can also use it at convenience stores as well. This is the most convenient method of paying at a convenience store.
